Description

DBeaver Community is an open-source desktop database management tool for connecting to many SQL and JDBC-accessible data sources. It provides SQL editing, schema browsing, result viewing, import/export workflows, and administration tools in one cross-platform client.

The official project describes DBeaver Community as a free, open-source tool with usability as a central goal. It supports any database with a JDBC driver and can also work with external data sources through plugins and database-management utilities.

This FossHub page records DBeaver Community 26.1.2 as a reviewed release entry and links to the official release page. The package row keeps the version, filename, size, and release metadata from the release inventory without adding a direct binary download.

DBeaver Community Features

DBeaver Community is built for people who work across databases and need a consistent desktop interface. Developers, analysts, database administrators, and support teams can use it to inspect schemas, run queries, browse tables, export data, and compare structure without switching tools for every database engine.

The breadth of supported databases is one of its main strengths. The official project lists support for many relational, analytical, cloud, and file-based systems through JDBC drivers and plugins, with additional utilities such as ERD, data transfer, compare, export/import, and mock data generation.

  • SQL editor, query execution, result grids, and database navigation in a desktop client.
  • Schema browsing for tables, views, indexes, procedures, and related database objects.
  • Data transfer, export/import, compare, ERD, and administration utilities.
  • Support for databases with JDBC drivers, plus selected external data sources and plugins.
  • Cross-platform packages for Windows, macOS, and Linux, with bundled Java runtime options.

DBeaver Community Review

DBeaver Community is a strong fit when one database client needs to cover several systems. It can reduce tool sprawl for users who move between PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, SQL Server, analytical engines, cloud databases, and other data sources in the same week.

The interface is broad because the product covers many workflows, so new users may need time to learn panels, drivers, connections, and result-grid behavior. Once configured, the benefit is a consistent workspace for querying, browsing, and moving data across projects.

For organizations, the main review points are driver policy, credential storage, extension use, and whether Community Edition covers the required workflows. Teams that need enterprise management or commercial features should compare those needs against the project's separate paid editions.
